• Progressive‑scan output via component video (480p), including Sony’s Precision Cinema Progressive™ with 3:2 pulldown, 12‑bit/108 MHz DAC and edge‑enhancement
• Digital Video Enhancer, pre‑frame noise reduction, time‑base corrector, and Rec Video Equaliser (brightness/contrast/colour/hue adjustments) for improved encoding quality
• Chase Play: watch while recording, “live” playback (not available in HQ/HSP or on 1× DVD‑RW)
• Simultaneous Play & Record on the same disc (with the same limitations)
