Description
The Akai PRO-1000 professional tape recorder
The Akai PRO-1000 was produced between 1977 and 1982. It was primarily marketed in the United States, Canada, and Japan, with limited availability in Europe.
Limited distribution and the fact that this was Akai’s only significant entry into the semi-professional tape recorder market suggest that the production run was relatively small. At the present time, this rare model, serial number: 00001, is a collector’s item.
