HiFi Vintage Ltd. is a private company based in Great Britain. We started as vintage audio fans and analog sound enthusiasts and over the last few years, we have become one of the UK’s leading second-hand hi-fi retailers. We sell nostalgic, vintage audio equipment around the world, providing our customers with unique musical experiences.

That’s why we keep looking for and buying high-quality used hi-fi equipment. We are particularly interested in devices from the 70s, 80s and early 90s – reel to reels tape recorders, cassette decks, turntables, speakers, amplifiers and receivers. We are not interested in modern brands and home theatre systems. We don’t buy and don’t repair Bang&Olufsen types of equipment.

Send us an email with details of your types of equipment: brand and models, so if you are unsure, you are more than welcome to send us a picture of the item/s. If we are interested, we aim to come back to you with an offer within 24 hours.
However, our response time might be a bit longer over weekends, bank holidays and busy periods.

As a company, we also repair hi-fi audio equipment. We must check the equipment to diagnose the problem and estimate the repair. The diagnosis is free. Please, contact us by phone or e-mail before you bring the equipment for repair.

GENERAL RULES

Our basic rule is to sell fully working equipment. Before sale, each device undergoes a thorough inspection and necessary repairs – replacement of worn elements, lubrication and tests. We don’t fully re-cap every unit which we serviced.

No matter how great equipment you buy, you must remember that you have purchased an item over 30 years old. You must have basic knowledge about its use and servicing of its.
The audio equipment which we sell is not connecting via WiFi or Blutheeth. For connecting the units you need cables RCA, DIN or optical. All of that depends on the available in/out in every single unit (see the last picture on the listing). These cables are not included.

Within a few minutes of receiving your order, we will send you an order confirmation email. Similar to the online order number, the order confirmation email does not indicate our acceptance of the order; it only confirms that we have received your order. After processing the order, which includes rechecking the technical condition of the device and preparing it for shipment, we will send you an email confirming the acceptance of the order, which will include shipping details. The decision to accept the order is solely at our discretion. We will keep you informed of any issues as they arise

PAYMENT

All your payments in our e-commerce shop support PayPal. Thanks to this, you are protected before scams and fraud. All transactions are captured and protected by PayPal.

When you make a purchase, you can pay by a PayPal account, debit, or credit card. Also, you can use the PayPal Later payment option.
Please remember that in different countries are available other PayPal payment options.

Partial exchange is possible by prior arrangement.

International buyers, please note that you are seeing net prices and you will be responsible for paying tax and duty in your country. Please make sure to check what import costs you will have to bear before making a purchase.

SHIPPING

We send orders within 1-2 business days of cleared payment. In the United Kingdom, most of the parcels we send via Parcelforce. Delivery time is one business day. Prices start from £8.50 and depend on the weight and size of the equipment. If you have some particular preference for delivery, please ask us before you purchase.

Orders from abroad are priced individually, depending on the destination country. We always choose large and well-known courier companies (UPS, DPD, FedEx).

You can check the shipping price by “ADD TO BASKET” and entering the postcode and destination country. It is not binding. Any time you can remove all items from the basket.
If the price of postage is high or an item is available only in a personal collection, don’t hesitate to ask about other postage options. We could find a solution.

Why don’t we ship on the same day? The equipment we sell comes second-hand, so most often it does not have the original packaging. Therefore, we need time to safety pack the device you have purchased. In the case of large and heavy devices such as reel-to-reel tape recorders, the shipping time may be longer.

Very large and heavy items – over 35 kg – are shipped on a pallet, which significantly extends the delivery time. Additionally, remember that pallet deliveries are made to your driveway and re-delivery is not possible.

However, in the case of very delicate devices such as turntables or some huge and heavy ones, we recommend a personal collection.

Import tax and duty

All customers outside of the UK are responsible for paying the taxes and duties in their country. We don’t charge import taxes. In our shop, you pay the net price (exc. VAT) plus postage cost. Import tax will be charged by the courier company in your country.

Customers from European Union countries, please remember that upon receiving the shipment, you will be required to pay the VAT tax applicable in your country. For customers outside the EU, please check what import costs you will have to bear before the purchase.

Refusal to accept the package from the courier will be treated as a return within 7 days (change of mind). In such a case, the customer will be charged for the shipping costs both ways, if such costs were incurred.

RETURN POLICY

If you change your mind, you have 7 days to return it. In this case, you (the buyer) pay the return shipping costs. Please don’t use Evri for return postage. Your refund will be reduced by shipping costs.

If the equipment is damaged during delivery. We cover the return costs and issue a full refund.

In other cases, we provide a 30-day warranty. In such a case, we first repair the device and send it back to the customer. In cases where repair is not possible, we issue a full refund. We organize and cover the costs of return postage.

If the device is returned “as faulty” and it turns out that it was used inappropriately /unskillfully. Your refund will be reduced by shipping costs.

Some devices, especially reel-to-reel tape recorders, may have a longer warranty. Ask for details.

Each time, the buyer is obliged to carefully pack the returned item. Please remember, that each parcel is flipped and turned many times. Please do not leave any spaces in the box. The item should be wrapped in bubble wrap and the box should be filled, without gaps.

We always book return postage by Parcelforce. You will have to print the label and drop off the parcel at the nearest Post Office.
In some special circumstances, we can order the parcel collection by a courier. Please remember that in this situation you must stay at home on the day of collection.
We make every effort to facilitate the return of shipments. However, the courier we order sometimes does not arrive. We do not influence this.
